In their daily life, customers are used to being surrounded by technologies. It simplifies their life. Thats why, they would like to have the same experience type as they arrive at an airport. Since they are in digital era, their expectations are higher, and airports have to respond to the following challenge: providing digital services to passengers in order to allow them to experience a seamless journey at the airport.
Henceforth, airports seek to progressively introduce the newest technologies. They are recognizing that technologies are critical because passengers are technologically savvy, and they have to respond to increasing demands.
In this perspective, the aim of this essay is to analyse how enhanced technologies, such as biometrics, self-service technologies, automation, Big Data, mobile technologies and digital communication, might impact on the passenger experience.
For this purpose, an analyse of the current reviews about above mentioned technologies and their potential impacts will be lead. Then, an empirical study will be conducted to verify their conformance in the field and to get a deeper insight of the current and future impacts of smart technologies on passenger experience and airport processes.
