The gap between theory and management is a reality well known in research studies. Managers and researchers have different interests and the application of theory in the business reality sounds complicated.
The constant markets evolutions and volatility have forced businesses to adapt their strategy and since 25 years the concept of Supply Chain Management has emerged and became a model of success. But, the application of such strategy needs to consider logistics and purchasing as added-value functions and no longer only as organizing operations.
However, businesses and employees are reluctant to change their structure and drive changes inside their organization. In this research paper we are trying to identify bridges to establish cooperation between researchers and managers for a win-win association in order to drive an efficient change for the application of Supply Chain Management. We will especially identify the role of business students in apprenticeship as a link between research and management.
Through this research paper we have driven a qualitative and a single case study completed with a research-action method, made by the business students for 12 months in order to answer to our problematic: The gap between theory and management is illustrating complexity of businesses to drive an efficient change for the Supply Chain Management?
The innovation, supported by scientific research and the ability of companies to adapt their organizational structures to it, characterizes today the success of organizations
